IMG_0466Amidst a record season for winter kings outside of Sitka, Captains David and James couldn’t pass up a flat day on the ocean to wet some lines. They ventured to David’s favorite spot at Vitskari, anchored, and enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the calm ocean. James caught a beautiful winter king and David landed a chicken halibut. David said there were other boats on the water the same day and he saw other anglers catching kings. The presence of these kings is very positive leading indicator that the record king forecast is taking form.
