Sitka Shines

Gale warnings,  12 foot seas, it was the kind of forecast that would have you thinking fishing is out of the question. Not in Sitka where good fishing on lee shores give us a shot to make a bad weather day into  a great fishing day. The Angling Unlimited fleet stayed in protected waters and once again found fish that were described by angler John Blair as “the greatest salmon in the world.” We’re talking kings from 25 to 35 pounds – the best fighting fish in the North Pacific. The AU fleet limited out during a solid bite in mid morning with enough fish around for some catch and release action, too. The weather is supposed to let up tomorrow.
