Salmon Shark

By June 15, 2010One Comment

Captain David Gross with the Ron Behrens party experienced the first salmon shark encounter of the 2010 season for Angling Unlimited today. Hooked while halibut fishing on a circle hook, the five foot long shark was near the boat when it made a final run and broke off.  All 7 Angling Unlimited boats limited on kings and halibut today. Jim Klaustermeyer, Jr. landed a 32 pound king fishing with Captain Phil Carlson. It was the last day of the spring ling season and the Wong party finished out their lingcod limits. The ocean continued settling down and fishing is in excellent mid-June form – lots of bait, lots of kings, and even a coho or two showing up in the catch.
