Big King Sunday, Coho Monday

By July 16, 2012No Comments

The salmon fishing was a bit on the hit or miss side again from late last week, but things came around on Sunday with some big kings including fish of 40, 39, and 31 pounds. Silvers weren’t abundant on Sunday but on Monday they came back with limits and near limits on all our boats. The encouraging part of the most recent wave of silvers is they showed up in a number of locations, rather than just at Cape Edgecumbe. The ocean was a bit rough with a steady westerly blowing which is forecast to go another day. Running offshore for halibut was a bit of a beat, so our fleet found good fishing closer into shore along with the salmon.
