Captain Tom's Fishing Repor FInal

Fishing for kings remains somewhere between excellent and white hot. The fish have shown up in all the usual places on the ocean. Size is very solid with many in the mid-20’s and some ranging into the 30’s. We are seeing some silvers, but not many yet. We’re also seeing chums and pinks in the catch. The ocean remains alive with bait and krill. Rumors from 100 miles south of Sitka are that the silvers are coming onshore in mass numbers already. We’re hoping to see the same any day. Halibut fishing has taken a little longer the last few days, but most boats are getting the job done.

Lastly, Henry Liebman fishing in very deep water with Captain David Gross landed the state record shortraker rockfish – a whopping 39.1 pounds. Congratulations to Henry.
