The Trojan party wrapped up their four-day fishing trip with Captain Bo today. It was exactly what guests who come at the end of July have come to expect – a phenomenal overlap of king and silver fishing. The first three days the group fished waters south of Kruzof including Sitka Point, The Cape, and Beaver Point. Their days were a filled with silver and king limits and plentiful opportunities for catch and release. The largest king of the trip was a 30-pound beauty caught by Andrew Johnson. It was his first king ever! Since the bite was so consistent, the group felt confident to leave the salmon grounds two of the days in search of halibut and return right where the bite left off. The halibut were reliable near shore and off-shore. The only difference was size and variety of fish were better offshore. The group even caught a 5-foot blue shark.

The last day of the trip the group ventured north to explore where they also found salmon in The Bowl and landed several delicious black cod off-shore. They capped off their trip with a relaxing lunch in calm water in a back bay.

Yep, my seventh trip with Angling Unlimited was again epic. The first day we reeled in fifteen Kings to the boat under sunny skies. After that, each day was pleasantly different with the variety and numbers of fish caught, the wildlife encountered, and of course the weather and waves. The friendliness of the entire Angling Unlimited staff, and the efficiency of the entire operation, is to be commended. We have already booked our trip for next year.
