IMG_0505Thank you to everyone who attended the Fargo Sportsmen’s Show and the Northwest Sportshow to stop by our booth. We truly enjoy sharing our stories and helping you plan your fishing adventure to Sitka, Alaska. We heard a lot of great questions during the shows, but two were very common.

Two popular questions we heard at the show:

“When is the best time to fish?”

Every month is special. It all depends on an angler’s preference and what type of fish they want to catch. People who love catching kings typically visit in May and June – with this year looking like another great season for kings. Others who want more, chaotic action, visit during July, August and September for the silver bite. Halibut and rockfish will be great all season from May-September. Other factors that may go into time of year preference are regulations, snow-capped scenery months, summertime events and reduced rates.

“How do I get to Sitka?”

It has never been easier to get to Sitka. Unlike many fishing towns in Alaska, Sitka has its own commercial airport. Airlines flies 737 airplanes directly into Sitka. There are no bush planes or boat rides required to get to our lodge. In fact, new this year is the addition of Delta Airlines. We’re seeing prices drop with some as low as $207 round trip from Seattle and $575 round trip from Minneapolis. Our hostesses will pick you up at the airport and transport you to our lodge, which is only ten minutes away. You only need to arrive and be ready to fish! For a detailed outline of a trip, visit our itinerary page.

We still have fishing dates available during prime dates. If you’re in search of the ultimate fishing adventure, fill out the inquiry form below and we’ll be in touch.

It is good to see that Delta is competing for air traffic to Alaska. Reduced fairs should be good for the sportsman and service providers.
