Perhaps Yes!

In the last report we wondered whether, perhaps, we were seeing the vanguard of the silver run. The answer appears to be yes. Last Monday we saw catches of up to 20 silvers on our boats, with most boats bringing in decent numbers. We had a patch of rough weather on Tuesday that drove boats off the ocean. Thursday we had nine boats out and the silver catches ranged from 10 to 20 per boat – not quite wide open action, but steady and interesting. Most of the silvers are 5 to 8 pounds, a few are as big as 10. Kings remain scarce, but a few are mixed in with the silver action. Halibut and rockfish remain steady. We’re hoping the silver run continues to follow the trajectory of the past 3 or 4 days. We’ll keep you posted.
