2020 King Salmon Regulations

King salmon numbers have improved since 2019. While not anywhere near a peak, they show a positive trend that we hope will continue. These limits are per person:

  • May thru June 30 – 1 per day daily bag. 3 per year annual limit
  • July 1 – July 7 – 1 per day daily bag, 2 per year annual limit
  • July 8 – end of season – 1 per day, 1 per year annual limit

Kings caught at any point in the season apply to annual limit.

2020 Halibut Regulations

The International Pacific Halibut Commission met during the first week of February and established this year’s catch limits. The halibut resource is healthy but not at anything close to peak abundance, in part due to effects from warm water event from 2013 – 2016 called “the blob”. The new regulations for the guided angler in Southeast Alaska are somewhat improved. It always nice to go in the right direction.

Daily halibut limit, per person: 1 per day – under 40″ long or over 80″

Keep track of the 2020 regulations as they’re announced here.
