Our guests have enjoyed some of the fastest king fishing in recent years over the past six days. Huge masses of baitfish along with whales and massive schools of kings made fishing easy for the last 5 days of June and the beginning of July. With the kings taken care of early, trips offshore yielded excellent catches of bigger halibut along with some blackcod.

The nearshore action for rockfish remained nearly automatic. The only thing missing so far is the silvers. We’ve had time to search for them in the usual locations like “the cape”, but so far they haven’t shown any pattern or numbers. With the amount of baitfish and life along the outer coast, this could change any day now.
