The theme for July remains the same – kings abundant, silvers sporadic. Last week we saw the first boat limit of silvers (24) caught on July 17 by the DeHass party fishing with Captain Ryan. A couple of other boats got close to the limit that day. These scores resulted from fishing salmon nearly all day – a long steady grind. We are beginning to see the bigger double digits (over 10 pounds) silvers mixed into the catch but the silver scores remain well below normal for this time in July.

The boats venturing offshore continue to catch limits of good size halibut nearly every trip along with a decent amount of blackcod. King catching seems close to automatic. Ditto for rockfish with some keeper lingcod to spice the action.
