Captain Greg was all smiles after landing this nice mid thirty pound King during an early May scouting day with AU Captain’s DJ, Phil, and Chuck.
The beautiful and vast Tongass National Forest surrounds the Sitka area. There seemed to be more snow cover than normal on the peaks during the first half of our fishing season. That combined with an abundance of bears on the beach made for some exciting rides to and from the fishing grounds!
Catching huge fish has become the norm for Lee Cruthcher over the past couple years. The 330 pound barn door halibut he masterfully landed a couple years ago still holds the top spot for Captain Chuck. This years Yellow-eye is as big as they get. The rest of his group not only gets the pleasure…
David Lee fished with Captain DJ during late May last season. The crisp cold weather helped keep the guys cool while they battled some great King Salmon. This beauty ended up being the second largest of their trip! Great work guys.
Mark Woods landed this 45# King Salmon a few years ago in Sitka. A beautiful fish in prime condition. This is the kind of fish many of us are hoping to catch as we lower our cut plug herring into the salty depths. Great fish Mark!
Floyd Bullock and his group were getting a little concerned after fishing for a couple hours with nothing to show for it when suddenly the big show was on! A school of Kings under the boat! They managed to land a triple header and later found a fourth before heading out to do some halibut…
Jeanne and Wayne Boehm teamed up to display this big beautiful king salmon. What a great fish. Good job!
Mt. Edgecumbe standing bold and beautiful in the background, a flat ocean, lots of sunshine, and yes, the fish were biting too! This might not be heaven, but it’s got to be close! Sitka is truely a special place.
Capt. Tom and Capt. Chuck enjoyed more than a week of sunny weather in Sitka last week while they attended the Board of Fish meetings. More details of these meeting coming soon! This picture was taken from on top of the bridge. The Pioneer home is the dominant building in the center, the Russian Church…
Chuck took this picture while in Sitka in February. The weather was near perfect during the trip, and Sitka on a sunny day has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. There is no doubt this commercial boat is enjoying the sunshine!
