Position: Deckhand
Hometown:Breckenridge, Colorado
Why you’re here/why Alaska: Other than the surreal beauty Alaska has to offer, a big factor that drew me up here is the longer days you experience during the summer months. Because I spend the majority of my free time in the outdoors, I always wanted to live in a place that displays up to 18 hours of sunlight.
What you do in the off season: This off-season I plan to work for Ski Patrol at Breckenridge Mountain Resort. I grew up skiing in Breck, so I am very excited for the opportunity to work on the mountain that had such a dynamic impact on my childhood. I also plan to travel in-between jobs during the fall and spring.
What you love to do/hobbies: During the winter I try to ski as much as I can and ski tour whenever I can find good snow. I spend the warmer months backpacking around the thousand of trails Colorado has to offer, always bringing a fly rod along with me.
Education/goals/career plan: Having already graduated from Colorado State University with degrees in Finance and Psychology, I plan to follow a career path that allows me to use the skills I have acquired while working for outdoor-oriented companies.
Favorite saying: I do the very best I can. The very best I know how. And I mean to keep doing it, until the very end. – Lincoln
