Position: Sitka Office Manager

Hometown: Silver Lake, MN

Why you’re here/why Alaska: When I first started working at Angling Unlimited as a hostess in 2019 I was excited for the change in scenery and the chance to take on a new challenge. I continued to come up each season because my coworkers at AU and the clients who return year after year started to feel like family. My favorite part about the job is being surrounded by people who appreciate the nature and beauty of Alaska just as much as I do.

What you do in the offseason: I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a degree in Public Health and Community Health Education. After finishing my senior internship with a non-profit in Denver, Colorado I decided to stay there to hit the slopes in the winter and enjoy everything that the mountains have to offer. I spend a lot of time with family and friends and try to travel as much as possible when I’m not up in Sitka for the summer fishing season.

What you love to do/hobbies: I love to read, hangout with my friends, play board and card games, spend time with my family, go on hikes, paddleboard, camp, eat hotdogs, snowboard, travel, and scare people.

Education/goals/career plan: I have a bachelor’s degree in Public Health.

Favorite saying: “Would you rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me” -Michael Scott
