Angling Unlimited’s 2026 season opens with a tripling of the 2025 king salmon limits. Our guests in May and June will enjoy the opportunity to retain a king each day on a three day/four-night trip – a giant leap up from last year’s one king annual limit. King regulations are set based on the abundance index (AI) from the Pacific Salmon Commission. The AI is derived from a complex formula using countless inputs from up and down the coast. Word on the dock all winter was that the low abundance from 2025 would repeat or be worse in 2026. To our surprise and delight, the AI jumped upward for 2026. That’s good news for the resource and king anglers.

2026 King Regulations

May – June 30: One per day/3 annual limit

July 1 – End of September: One per day/1 annual limit

Resident: 2/day

Note: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game tracks king harvest carefully and manages in-season to ensure that catch limits aren’t exceeded. While we don’t anticipate these regulations changing, be aware they can with short notice.
