Big Halibut

By August 12, 2012No Comments

Andrew McCoy landed the biggest halibut of our season – a whopping 165 pounds. Current halibut regulations allow for keeping halibut under 45 inches (42 pounds) over 68 inches (160 pounds). Andrew caught the big halibut fishing with Captain David Gross after a morning of salmon fishing that included a 32 pound king landed by his dad, Mark McCoy. It was a 3 generation group headed up by grandfather Richard. The rest of our fleet enjoyed excellent silver fishing and a fair number of kings hit the dock yesterday, too. Congressman Norm Dicks, fishing with Captain Chuck, landed an 18 pound silver – the biggest we’ve seen so far this year. The silver run continues to be one of the best we’ve seen in years.
