Doug Weathers has been fishing with Angling Unlimited for 15 years with his family including father Don and brothers Chris and Tony. He’s seen a lot of good times on the water with us, so when he tells me at our tent event that the first drift on Monday with Captain Phil Carlson was his best in those 15 years, it says a lot. One drift and they landed 16 silvers and 2 kings. Just about every bait that went down got bit. The ocean was dead calm, he was having fun with friends and family. And fun is what this is all about. The 2013 season continues to fire on all cylinders. Following the red hot salmon bite Doug and company headed offshore for halibut limits. Other catches of note yesterday included a king of nearly 50 pounds released on Captain Chuck’s boat with the Larry Knutson party and a king of 30 pounds landed by Tom Carter on my boat.
