Thank you to everyone who attended the Fargo Sportsmen’s Show this past weekend and stopped by our booth. We truly enjoy sharing our stories and helping you plan your fishing adventure to Sitka, Alaska. We heard a lot of questions during the four-day show, but two were very common.
Two popular questions we heard at the show:
“When is the best time to come?”
As Chuck would say, “That’s a loaded question.” It really is, because it all depends on the preference of the angler and what type of fish they want to catch. People who love catching kings typically visit in May and June – with this year looking very favorable for kings. Others who want more, chaotic action, visit during July, August and September for the silver bite. Halibut will be great all season from May-September. Other factors that may go into time of year preference are snow-capped scenery months, summertime events and reduced rates.
“How do you get to Sitka?”
Unlike many fishing towns in Alaska, Sitka has its own commercial airport. Alaska Airlines flies 737 airplanes directly into Sitka. There are no bush planes or boat rides required to get to our lodge. Our hostesses will pick you up at the airport and transport you to our lodge, which is only ten minutes away. For a detailed outline of a trip, visit our itinerary page.
We have one sport show left this spring. If you are in the Minneapolis area March 26-30, stop by our booth at the Northwest Sportshow in the Minneapolis Convention Center. We’ll share our show specials and have a sign-up to win a free fishing trip. See you there!
