The most productive waters for kings still remain south. We aren’t the only ones who have noticed either. With more charters starting their seasons and a concentrated bite, fishing spots south of Kruzof have been popular and busy. Captain David finished his second day of fishing with the Supplee party today. The first two days of the trip they bagged their limit of kings at The Cape and Shelikof Bay.
The weather has been gorgeous and provided a flat ocean, so the group ventured to deep water offshore in search of halibut and black cod. They were rewarded for their efforts – retaining both halibut and black cod. Captain Tom had the other half of the Supplee party. He made a successful run north to halibut fish and brought home limits. May weather has been mild compared to other years, which allows for great offshore fishing opportunities. Hopefully it holds!
