The silver bite was on this afternoon! The Messenger and Parducci parties fishing with Captain Bryan and Captain James boated limits of kings and silvers. By not venturing off shore for halibut, the groups’ good fortune caught them in the midst of a white hot silver bite in the afternoon. Captain James reported seeing schools of silvers a hundred feet thick below his boat.
Captain Bryan said his anglers were attempting to catch halibut with salmon guts for bait, but couldn’t get the bait to the bottom without hooking up on a silver! The silvers they brought to the dock were larger than average for this time of year. Most were approaching the ten pound mark!
The weather forecast for the next week consists of rainy days, but relatively calm waters. This gives us the opportunity to search for the schools of silvers making their way into Sitka waters. Stay tuned.
