Greene Party and the Tale of Dirty Bear

Kim, our amazing office manager in Minnesota always shares your feedback and the great memories you’ve created during your time with us! To help others in their search for the trip of a lifetime, we’ll share some of those stories. The majority of our business is generated from client endorsements, so your opinion is very important to us! Here is one from a couple of friends who have been pranking each other with a toy bear for the last seven years.

“The fishing was awesome! I caught and released more kings than I can count after I caught my limit.  All the captains were great, but I especially enjoyed Captain James and Chuck.  I also want to give high praise to Sarah the new girl deckhand. She was a very hard worker and did a great job especially for only doing it for two days. She is definitely a keeper. When we were returning from our killer day of fishing she was on the back deck cleaning the halibut and I was watching how good she was cutting the fillets. I asked Chuck how long she has been doing it and I was blown away when he told me that it was only her second day. All in all it was a awesome time.

Now the story of Dirty Bear. Brian and I have been friends a very long time. Dirty Bear is a small bear that Brain found in the mud on one of my commercial construction sites. He thought it was funny and snuck into my office on site and put it in my desk draw. Over the last seven years have tried to one-up each other on how to give it back to each other. I have some really good stories, but will only share the last two exchanges.  My last time of giving it back to Brian was four years back on his 50th birthday party at the Cheese Cake Factory. I had vacuumed packed the bear and had it baked in a cake at a local bakery. I then asked the Cheese Cake Factory if they would bring it out like it was one of their own. It was hilarious when he cut the cake and found it. Brian was waiting for a good opportunity to return it to me and he did it on our fishing trip. It happened on the last day of fishing when I was on the other boat and Jim and Brian were fishing together. I was fishing with Captain James and Deckhand Ryan. We had just arrived to the fishing spot and Ryan said my poll was ready for me and had already dropped it to the bottom. I thought that was a little strange that he would drop my line, but brushed it off. I began reeling up slowly, attempting to catch my next big king when the poll felt a little sluggish. I thought I may have gone through a jelly fish, so I reeled it all the way up. The head of the stupid bear breeched the water and I knew I had been served. I took it off the hook and held it up high and yelled “Dirty Bear” to Brian who was about 50 yards away from us, laughing his ass off. I will now keep it a few years and will need to think of worthy way of giving it back to him that will top what he did. I’m not going to lie it will be hard to beat that one. It was a great experience for me and displays how your crew was committed to play along. Thanks!

And last of all, Thank you for all your effort to make the trip happen for us.

-Ron Greene”
