Late July took prime form on Thursday with most AU boats getting limits of kings and halibut, plus plenty of big silvers. The ocean was flat, the mountains were showing below a high layer of cloud and, basically, it just doesn’t get much better. As an added treat, whales were tail slapping and feeding on an abundant krill layer right next to where we were catching salmon. The kings ran mainly from the high teens to nearly 30 pounds. The silvers ranged from 8 to 14 pounds.
