Hiccup?
As last reported, the silver run appeared to be building. We had decent numbers of silvers and they came in from a number of different areas. Though limit catches weren’t happening, we liked what we were seeing. Then we had a rain and wind event on Sunday and the catches dropped, partially because it was hard to fish effectively due to weather and part because the silvers numbers dropped. Monday began with a big swell and a confused ocean. The silvers remained elusive, but some boats managed near half limits The kings remain very hard to find and show up in the most random of ways. We stopped off Beaver Point today looking for silvers and landed three kings out in the middle nowhere. The long and short, we’re hoping the past two days of declining number of silvers is a hiccup in an otherwise increasing run. We’ll know better in three or four days.
