Sarah Levar began as hostess at AU then moved on to become a deckhand. In 2017 she began running trips as our first woman captain. She took the helm on a more full-time basis in 2018. She’s also a licensed Occupational Therapist in Minnesota in the offseason. There she met Kurt Farber, a manufacturers rep for Lund Boats. Kurt and Sarah share a love of the great outdoors and Alaska. When they decided to tie the knot, they picked Sitka as their special place for the event.
On September 1, the wedding party and guests boarded an Allen Marine tour boat in Crescent Harbor and motored into Silver Bay. A humpback whale swam past the boat on our way. Next, a smaller Allen Marine boat delivered the bride. Vows were taken aboard the larger vessel. After that, a wonderful dinner of, you guessed it, halibut and salmon was served. A great time was had by all.
