The Biggest King of 2021!
Derek Grabeklsi, fishing aboard Albatross with Captain Tom, landed a 42-pound king on July 15, 2021. The big chinook hit his herring at 47 feet down and a long 15 or 20-minute fight ensued. It’s the biggest king of the AU season so far. Excellent king fishing continues to be the main event this July.
The silvers occasionally show in numbers at a specific location and time, but they don’t repeat. Such was the case in the Point Amelia area which hosted a hot couple of hours of silver fishing on Wednesday with scores of 12 to 15 silvers for a few of our boats. The action did not repeat on Thursday. All the signs remain in place – whales, birds, and plenty of baitfish. We continue to keep our fingers crossed. As has been the case all season – halibut and rockfish action remains excellent.
