Happy Holidays from the AU Family to Yours
It’s that time of the year – short days, warm homes, family gatherings, time to reflect and time to look toward a new year. Wherever and whatever you celebrate, the key word is celebrate. Enjoy the people in your life, stare at the roaring fire (preferably a real one), and consider switching off the phone and the screens. Enjoy the people right there in the room with you.
We at AU wish all our special guests and their families an especially happy holiday season.

A Holiday Treat: Angling Unlimited’s Molasses Crisps
The holidays are a time for sharing traditions, and we couldn’t think of a better way to bring a little Angling Unlimited spirit into your home than with a batch of molasses crisps. This cookie recipe by Evelyn Pooch is similar to the ones we serve on the boats and are a festive blend of warm spices and sweetness—perfect for holiday gatherings or quiet evenings by the fire.
Molasses Crisps by Evelyn Pooch
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 4 T molasses
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 2 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups flour
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add egg and molasses. In a separate bowl, sift together the rest of the ingredients. Mix together dry and wet ingredients. Knead together until stiff. Chill. Roll into balls and then into sugar. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
