Angling Unlimited crew member Sarah Farber holds an alaskan salmon in Sitka, Alaska

Captain Sarah is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and has a true love for Alaska and life on the water. She came north for the incredible scenery and because she genuinely loves fishing with so many great people each season. For Sarah, the best part of the job is sharing time on the water and helping guests create memories they’ll talk about long after the trip is over.

During the offseason, Sarah heads back to Minnesota where she spends her time with her husband, Kurt, their rescue dog, Loon, and family and friends. When she’s not working, she’s usually outdoors hunting, fishing, hiking, or boating.

Sarah has a master’s degree in occupational therapy and plans to continue working as an occupational therapist in Minnesota. A favorite quote of hers by Henry David Thoreau sums up her approach to fishing and life: “Many people go fishing all their lives, without knowing it is not fish they are after.”

“We had a great trip! The fishing was hot on day one and really good on days two and three. Being my first time to Sitka, I am hooked! Capt Sarah was excellent. She is super confident and calm and just real good energy to be around all day. She possesses all the knowledge required and more. George was a great deckhand, super affable, very hardworking, always on the move and anticipating the next step. On top of it all.
I’d love to have Capt Sarah and George all over again, I don’t see how it could be any better than that!”
