Beginning May 2015, Delta Airlines will run flights to Sitka. Competition is good news for Sitka, which has been a one airline town for decades. Visitors to Sitka finally have a choice of carriers for the first time since AU went into business. We believe competition will be good for prices, services, and schedules. Delta’s schedule promises to provide options for people traveling from regions beyond the Pacific Northwest who might find that overnighting in Seattle is no longer necessary. People in Seattle will get the option to fly out after work and still arrive in time to get a good night’s sleep before the first day of fishing.
