The biggest king of the 2024 season was landed by long time guest and friend Jim Kelly aboard Albatross with Captain Jack McNamee. They were fishing open ocean drifts south of Sitka when Jim hooked the 47 pounder. A long fight ensued before the big buck was brought to the net.

King fishing remains solid. Silver fishing has been highly variable from day to day and boat to
boat – very random and best described as consistently inconsistent. Good numbers of ocean
bright chum salmon are mixed in with the silvers and kings. These bright chums fight hard and
provide good table fare whether smoked or grilled. Halibut fishing is a slam dunk with a sizable
number of GAF brought in over the past week ranging from 50 to 67 (60 to 150 pounds). Of
course, the rockfish never let us down.
