Summer Finally Arrives
Finally, the weather and the fishing brought that summer feeling for the past five days. AU’s
guests have enjoyed calm seas, clear skies, temperatures over 70, and an onshore push of
silver and chum salmon. Hordes of pinks have also arrived. Add to the mix good numbers of
king salmon for August and you have a formula for constant action. Silver catching hasn’t quite
reached wide-spread fever pitch, but it has been solid with 10 to 20 silvers per boat the typical
score. Mint bright ocean chum have topped off the coolers and nearly every guest is getting his
or her king for the trip. Halibut action is excellent and close to the salmon grounds. Large GAF
(link to GAF) continuing to make for excitement. Lingcod is open again and productive. Rockfish
never fail to please. Feels like the good old days.
