The silvers appeared to have arrived in force this Sunday. Fast silver limits were the rule for our boats that ran south. Along with the silvers, anglers found relentless numbers of pinks and chum, plus a few kings. In simple terms – every bait that went down got bit. This is a welcome development given the spotty nature of silvers up to this point and the closure of king salmon retention for the month of August.
Note for those unfamiliar: Chrome bright ocean chums are great fighters and very good to eat. We’re hoping the silvers are finally here to stay. Halibut fishing remains solid as does rockfish. The weather over the past week was dead calm with a lot of sunshine – as good as it gets. Happy days are here again.
