Name: Bo Breuner
Date of birth: 10/22/1990
Where were you raised? I was born and raised in California, then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at age 9. I consider myself a Pennsylvanian.
How old were you when you started fishing and what did you spend your youth fishing for? I can’t remember the first time I went fishing, but most certainly before age three. When I was six my dad took me Chinook fishing out of Halfmoon Bay South of San Francisco. I quickly became hooked on saltwater fishing. The Rivers In Pittsburgh offered a very diverse fishery when I was younger. I seldom left Pittsburgh without a fishing rod which exposed me to a lot of amazing fishing around North America. My favorite fish to catch are Chinook, Tuna, Stripers and Steelhead. I most enjoy saltwater fly fishing. Keeping big fish in the gene pool is important to me and each fish I release increases my appreciation for the practice.
What does fishing mean to you? Fishing takes us to places we would never otherwise go and allows us to experience the outdoors in a different way. It’s not always easy to get out of that warm cozy bed, but fishermen are always happy once they do.
Favorite quotes: “Hook what bits” – Captain David
“She’ll go forty” – Pat Husted
“Here we Go Steelers, Here we Go!”
Why you look forward to being a captain/guide? As a captain I’m most looking forward to spending time with the great people we’re able to fish with and show them what an amazing place Sitka is.
What strengths will you bring to the job? I will bring ample enthusiasm to AU as a captain and a fun animated attitude toward whatever the day may bring.
