Angling Unlimited and Szmania’s hosted a sneak preview of the Cook It side of Hook It and Cook It last Saturday night at Szmania’s Restauant. We had a great turnout of 35 people – a mix of AU regulars and Szmania’s regulars. We began with short introductions from Chef Ludger and Captain Tom who added details about how Hook It and Cook It unfolds in May over four great days and four great nights in Sitka.
We enjoyed a three course meal that began with a choice of seafood chowder or a lovely salad with crispy smelt. Following that we enjoyed rockfish over chickpeas and salmon wrapped in cabbage. Finally dessert with choices that included, of course, baked Alaska.

Saturday’s event got my blood pumping for the beginning of the season. The Hook It and Cook It Special gets underway in three weeks. It’s a terrific combination of fishing, instruction cooking, fine dining, and socializing with your fellow anglers. There’s a few spots left, reserve yours now!
