Contest: Help Us Name Our New Boat!

March 29, 201933 CommentsNewsBy Angling Unlimited

Here at Angling Unlimited, we’re always striving to stay ahead of the curve. With that mission in mind, we’ve decided to upgrade our fishing fleet with a brand new boat for the 2019 season. And, we need some help naming it!

The Boat: Northriver Sounder, walk around 30′ x 9’6″, twin 250 HP Honda outboards (details & specs)

The Captain: resident artist and fish-whisperer, Captain DJ Gross

What to Expect: similar size as the rest of the AU fleet. There will be more open aft deck space since the table over the engine box will not be there. The cabin will be the same size and heated with a small diesel heater. Expect the same smooth ride, maybe slightly faster. An aft deck boarding door will make it easier to get on and off at the dock. The latest Furuno electronics will help navigate and locate fish and schools of bait.

The Name: TO BE DETERMINED

Naming a boat can be a fun (but difficult) task, especially when it will carry the legacy of AU on each and every trip from our shores. So, this year, we’ve decided to reach out to our fans, loyal customers, and fellow fishing fanatics by asking for suggestions. Leave a comment below, send us an email, give us a call, DM us on Facebook or Instagram, or send us a carrier pigeon to submit your name suggestion(s). Our team will decide if any of the submissions work for our beautiful new vessel. If your name is chosen, you won’t receive any fancy prizes, but you will get the ultimate bragging rights on every trip with AU – and at home with your friends and family – for the rest of your life.

I’d say name it after two of AU’s biggest superstars and supporters, Ken and Sue Baumann. Name it
KS BAUMANN, nickname could be “KISS” as if you were to say KS really fast.
p.s. my father and I truly enjoyed our trip last June. Great times to be had at AU!
