King fishing remained somewhere between sizzling and on fire the past week. Our guests have enjoyed fast action and multiple hookups as large schools of kings pass under the boat. The only fly in the ointment was some blustery weather that began last Thursday, got roaring on Friday, and left a big swell behind for Saturday. A brisk northwest wind followed on Sunday. Despite the challenges and some discomfort, limits of kings and halibut have been the rule. The rough weather did scatter the kings making catching a bit more challenging, but the schools were reforming on Monday with calm seas and blue skies. We can usually find fish in challenging weather conditions. Still, we keep our eye on safety and suggest everyone who fishes with us brings good medication for seasickness.
