Strong performance for silvers and lingcod, a slam dunk for rockfish, and fast limits for halibut in some places. Hoping for a strong finish to the season!
The past week offered up hot silver fishing with some of the fastest limits of the 2021 season. Plus, solid halibut, rockfish, and lingcod fishing.
Whatever the weather our fleet gets out every day and we catch fish! When it’s too rough on the ocean, we find opportunities in protected water.
Decent weather on Sunday allowed catches of halibut & silvers on the ocean. Near limits were had by some of our boats & halibut were had by all.
Intermittent silvers, equal chums and kings, abundant pinks, nonstop salmon, solid black cod and pacific cod, a slight drop in halibut, and a slam dunk for rockfish.
Happy days are here again! Fast silver limits were the rule for our boats that ran south and the weather has been unbeatable here in Sitka, AK.
The theme for July remains the same – kings abundant, silvers sporadic.
The best king of Angling Unlimted’s 2021 season was landed by Dereck Grabelski with a 42 lb king salmon on July 15, 2021.
The salmon report for the past four days can be reduced to a headline: Kings Abundant, Coho Scarce.
Limits remain the rule! King salmon fishing was impacted, but not killed, by the July 1 commercial trolling opener.
